Multi-level go-kart tracks Frequently asked questions
For mall developers, FEC operators, indoor playground owners, adventure park operators and investors, whether you're planning a new venue or adding a multi-level go-kart track to the one you run.
Sector 01
Fit and feasibility.
Can I add a go-kart track to my existing indoor playground?
Yes. The track is designed as its own zone alongside the attractions you already run, and its levels stack upward, so it takes less floor than a flat circuit of the same length. Where the frame of an existing attraction sits in the track's path, that section may need to be modified, and we identify this at the layout stage. We start from your floor plans, clear heights and guest circulation, and design the circuit to suit the building.
How much floor area does a multi-level go-kart track need?
As a guide, allow from about 500 m² for a single level of track, and from about 1,000 m² for two or three levels. Stacking levels adds track length without taking more floor, so a compact footprint can still carry a long circuit.
What ceiling height do I need?
We recommend about 2.5 m of height per level of track, measured to the lowest obstruction such as beams, ducts or sprinklers. That's a recommendation, not a minimum: if your building is lower, there are ways to make it work.
Will my floor take the load of a multi-level track?
We check what your slab can carry, then design each level of the track to match your building's floor load capacity. The steel structure is designed to the AISC 360 specification for structural steel buildings, and our load-calculation team works to the strictest of EN, ASTM and GB standards. Our engineers will work with your engineers to confirm what your floor can take.
Do structural columns rule out a go-kart track?
No. You don't need a clear-span building. Columns stay where they are, and we route the circuit and its supports around them. As a guide, columns need to be at least 6 m apart for the track to run between them.
Can a go-kart track be built over existing soft play?
Usually the track and the soft play are separate zones, side by side. Where a level of track needs to pass over play equipment, we assess it case by case and keep at least 50 cm of clearance between the two. We plan support positions and guest access around the equipment that's already there.
How wide is the track?
5–6 m. That's wide enough for genuine overtaking, and passing is what makes a race worth repeating. Each elevated level keeps one width all the way around, bends and ramps included, sized to your site: from 5 m in compact venues to 6 m in larger ones.
Sector 02
Running the track.
What ages can drive the track?
Drivers aged 8 and up. The track is the same for every group; kart choice and speed settings are matched to your venue's age mix, from junior sessions to competitive adult racing.
Can adults and children drive at the same time?
We recommend separate adult and child sessions. It keeps each session safe, and it lets each group keep the sense of speed that makes the ride worth doing.
Can a large venue run more than one track?
Yes. A large, high site can run several tracks, each with speeds matched to an age group.
Which karts can I use on the track?
Any brand you choose. The track isn't tied to one kart supplier, so you can pick the electric karts that suit your venue and your guests. Send us the model's length, width, height, wheelbase, weight, top speed and maximum climbing angle, and we design the track around them. Climbing ability matters most, because it sets how steep the ramps between levels can be.
How many staff does the track need?
Plan on 4–6 staff while the track is running: usually two fitting helmets and giving the safety briefing, and two or more marshals at the track's 2–3 marshal posts, which sit on safety islands.
What maintenance does the track need?
The track follows a maintenance manual of daily, weekly, monthly and yearly checks, and the daily check takes one person. The track itself needs few spare parts. Karts need their usual wear parts, from your kart supplier.
What power supply does the track need?
As a guide, a 300 m track needs about 10 kW in all for its LED lighting and track systems, not counting kart charging. Charging depends on the karts you choose: lithium karts charge away from the track in explosion-proof cabinets, and lead-acid karts can charge in the start area. We supply the power and voltage figures, and your electrician builds the supply cabinet.
What does the barrier system include?
The Guard System covers barriers, railings and marshal posts, designed for elevated running.
Sector 03
The business case.
Will a go-kart track take guests away from my other attractions?
It's built alongside your existing attractions, not in place of them. Instead of competing for floor area, the attractions reinforce each other: a wider age range, longer dwell time and more reasons to come back.
How much does a multi-level go-kart track cost?
Every track is designed for its building, so we don't publish prices. Send us your floor plan and we'll come back with a feasibility assessment and an indicative layout.
Sector 04
Delivery and standards.
Who designs, builds and installs the track?
One team does all of it: design, engineering, manufacturing, installation and acceptance, under one contract. That's 200+ designers and engineers and 200+ in-house installers. Installation determines roughly 30% of a finished venue's quality, so our own crews carry it through to handover.
How long does a go-kart track take from design to opening?
Typically 5–8 months from agreed design to opening, depending on the size of the track and shipping time to your country. That covers detailed design, manufacture, factory pre-assembly, shipping and installation.
What do I need to prepare on site?
Your team prepares the floor and the power supply, and we do the rest, including setting out the track. The slab needs to be level and sound, with cracks and hollow spots repaired; we send the exact flatness tolerances with the layout. You'll also need a delivery route into the building that can take steel sections about 10 m long.
Is the track tested before it ships?
Yes. The steel structure of every track is fully pre-assembled and checked in our Nanjing factory before it ships, so issues are found on our floor, not yours.
What safety standards does the track meet?
Tracks are designed in line with the karting and amusement standards that apply to them: EN 16230-1, ASTM F2007, AS 3533.4.4, GB 19079.2 and GB 19197. Testing is done in a laboratory dual-authorized by TÜV Rheinland and SGS QTL Three-star.
Can I see a track in person?
Yes. Tell us where you are and we'll let you know where the nearest track is. Or visit us in Nanjing and drive the showcase track built in our factory. Ask us to arrange a visit.
